Auden's Revisions, by W. D. Quesenbery

Auden's Revisions, a book-length study by the late W. D. Quesenbery, has been made available (in 2010) for public use through the generosity of his daughter Whitney Quesenbery. The full text may be read or downloaded from this site. Please also consult the separate copyright notice.

Scholars may wish to note that the account of revisions in The Age of Anxiety is slightly inaccurate, as most of the revisions recorded as first occurring in Collected Longer Poems in fact were introduced into the second printing of the original book publication of The Age of Anxiety.

Hard copies of the book have been deposited in a number of libraries, including the New York Public Library and the libraries of Columbia University, Swarthmore College, Randolph-Macon College, Augusta State University, and the University of Mary Washington.
